To celebrate Canada's 150th birthday this summer, the Perth-Andover Community Choir is hosting a unique Canada Day Event - 150 Voices for 150 Years of Canada - an enormous choir concert in the late afternoon of Canada Day, July l, 2017 – outdoors, in Perth-Andover.
Day: Saturday, July 1, 2017
Location: Veterans Field, Perth-Andover
Venue: Open air concert – audience bring your own lawn chair & sun shade
Staging & chairs for singers
Schedule: 10 am -12 noon Mass Rehearsal at the concert site
1:00 pm Opening Ceremonies
1-4 pm Instrumental group performances
4-7 pm Choir concert – individual choirs, then mass choir.
Guest conductor for the mass choir is Peter McLaughlin, Second Wind Music Centre, Florenceville-Bristol.
A choir workshop will be held Friday, June 30th (2-5 and 7-9) for singers to learn the music they will be singing in the mass choir. There will also be numerous other evening and weekend workshops in June to learn the mass choir pieces.
The Village of Perth-Andover’s Recreation Commission will be offering activities for children throughout the day.
Local restaurants have been invited to offer special menus and promotions for the day.
The Perth-Andover Elks Club has agreed to host an art display (Canadian art from local students) in their club building across the street from the concert site.
