The Village of Perth-Andover Council strives to practice the following mission statement and guiding principals

The Mission Statement of the Municipal Council shall be: We are elected to serve the citizens of Perth-Andover. We do this with integrity by being open, responsive and fiscally accountable corporate body, dedicated to providing services leading to healthy, well planned and economically vibrant community for all to live and work in.

The principals that we foster are:

1. We will listen.

2. We will provide services which are prompt, reliable and cost effective.

3. We will continually strive to improve the quality of everything we do.

4. We will communicate openly and act with integrity and accountability.

5. We will display a courteous and considerate attitude in all of our affairs.

6. We will invest in the competence of our staff, leading and empowering them to make effective and proactive

    decisionsin the workplace.

7. We will ensure our amenities are well maintained and welcoming to all.

Council Biographies

Marianne Bell

Originally from Southern Ontario, Marianne Moved to Perth-Andover from Halifax in 1993 with her husband, Dr. David Bell. Their two children, Victoria and Owen, were born and raised in Perth-Andover.

Marianne serves as Chair of the Carleton Victoria Community Vocational Board, conductor of Perth-Andover Community Choir, member of the board of the Rotary Club of Perth-Andover, founder/facilitator of Perth-Andover Book Club, and in numerous capacities at her church. She has worked and volunteered in adult education and taught English at Southern Victoria High School for 5 years. She has a B.A. (English Literature) from the University of Western Ontario, an M.A. (English) from the University of Toronto, an M.Ed. (Adult Education) from Dalhousie University, and a B.Sc. (Secondary Education) from the University of Maine At Presque Isle.

In her free time, Marianne enjoys travelling, bicycling, walking, and rug-hooking.

Sheila Cummings

Sheila Cummings grew up in Perth-Andover. This is her first term on council. She has 35 years of experience in the education system as a teacher and administrator. Sheila has experience serving on Boards, including Future Footprints Family Centre Board (presently Chair), Crandall University Board of Governors for 6 years (spent a number of years as Chair), 6 years on the NBTA/NBTF Board, and National and Atlantic Cabinets of Gideons International in Canada.

Sheila enjoys officiating locally and nationally with Athletics New Brunswick. She volunteers with Roots of Empathy Program at Andover Elementary as well as working with the school in Pre-Kindergarten program. She is active at her local church. Sheila is interested in Flood Mitigation, HDSJ Expansion, economic development, job creation, recreation and promoting Perth-Andover.

Jason Green

Born in St. John's NL and raised in Perth-Andover, Jason lives wth his wife Julie, son Anson and daughter Ainsley.

This is Jason's First term as a councilor for Perth-Andover. He has been an active volunteer in the Village having served with the Perth-Andover Fire Department, the Larlee Creek Hullabaloo and the Gathering of the Scots. Jason's voice is often heard announcing Thunder hockey games, the SV Skate Show, hosting the Winter Carnival Queen's Pageant and as auctioneer at the Annual Rotary Auction.

Jason has coached hockey and golf and started a middle school rugby program 6 years ago that has developed into 2 successful high school programs.

Dave Hoyt

Dave is a second term Councillor and has lived in the village most of his life.  Dave works for the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure as teh bridge crew supervisor at Perth-Andover and surrounding area detachment.  Dave is currently the Chairperson for the Perth-Andover Recreation Commission, and sits on several other committees within the municipality.  Dave, along with his wife Bev, has 3 wonderful children.

Cindy McLaughlin

This is her first term as a member of the Municipal Council for the Village of Perth-Andover. She went to school in Perth-Andover and it has always been her hometown.

She started University at a later age, working towards her Bachelor's Degree in Business Admministration. She believes that you're never too old to learn new things.

She has different businesses in the area, including commercial and residential rentals. Cindy is also a member of the local Elk's Lodge and the Rotary Club.

She hopes to help bring in new jobs to our area, and help rebuild our beautiful Village.
